Shooting Instruction

Beginner or intermediate

Learn to break clays like a pro

Focus on proven and solid fundamentals

Jon Parrish is a certified National Sporting clays Association (NSCA) instructor. Whether you have never even loaded a shotgun or you are an intermediate shooter, Jon can help you reach your goals!

This sport is intended to be FUN!  Everyone will agree that breaking clays is more fun than missing them.

Every sport has a learning curve and the sooner you learn the basics to that sport the quicker you will experience success. For the beginner, Jon will focus on the shooting fundamentals. Gun safety being first and foremost! After that, you will learn proven steps and techniques that are easy to understand and implement and will greatly accelerate the learning process. There are simply no substitutes for learning these fundamentals and trying to bypass them will only lead to a lifetime of inconsistency and mediocrity. If you were new to golfing, the very worst thing someone could do is get a bucket of balls and hit the range to “practice”. You would only be reinforcing bad habits that will have to be unlearned in order to improve.  The same is true in Sporting Clays.

For the intermediate shooter, Jon will help you improve your scores by reinforcing these fundamentals and basics and apply them to your existing shooting style. Improving at this stage usually means removing steps from your current methods, not adding more!

Rates are $60 per hour plus target fees. There is a two hour minimum for lessons. Prices for large groups and/or all day events may be negotiated. Up to three shooters can participate in the same session for the same fee; however shooters will maximize their learning experience if everyone is close to the same skill level.

Instruction sessions are by appointment only and can be arranged by calling the club office.
